XP Boot problem after power interrupt

Running XPSP2 fully updated. Was installing Turbo Tax, and downloading
updates from the web when power was interrupted. Current situation is: When
trying to reboot, system gets to light blue screen with XP logo, then hangs
in about 6 seconds. CAN boot to safe mode. Unfortunately only have sp1
disks, so had to download sp2, and do all that was needed in order to install
and run recovery console. However, during loading of recovery console, get a
BSOD. Now I'm stuck. Please help. Thanks.
