Can anyone please tell me how I can make a backup disc
within XP other than using system restore?
Thanks.

Spend some money and go buy Norton Ghost. It will let you do a complete
image of your hard drive and burn them to CD's.

Hi

System Restore isn't a backup utility. It takes a 'snapshot' of various files/folders at regular time intervals. If you want to backup your system, you will need to use a 3rd party program such as Drive Image:

Please note: If you intend to use Drive Image 7 - you will need to install .NET Framework for it to work.

Jon -
I agree with Chris but back up to a plug-in hard drive
with Norton Ghost. Takes only about 15 minutes to copy
over 19gb - and then I have a bootable copy on-the-shelf.
Has saved my hind side on several occasions.
