XP automatically starts up immediately after Hibernation

I just started using a new HP DC7800. with WIN XP Pro SP2.

When the computer goes into hibernation within a minute or so it
automatically starts up again.

It has 4Gb RAM. There are no AUTO starts in the BIOS. there are no
scheduled tasks.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Further to this I have noticed that there is a particular program is causing
this reboot to occur after hibernation.

It is a share trading platform by CMC markets called Marketmaker - a JAVA
application which accesses the NET. This never used to happen but with
newer updates this is increasingly causing hibernation issues. on some of my
other computers.

Sometimes it won't even allow a computer to go into hibernation.

Do you have Wake On LAN enabled on your network card? This can cause your
problem.

Also you may disable MOUSE from waking up the computer. I noticed even
slightest desk movement activates mouse.

Thanks Louis,

Although I had thought WOL was turned off in the BIOS - I had to switch it
off in the Network card settings as well - and the problem went away. I
would have never thought to have looked that deep - once again many thanks
for your help.
