Hello everybody (sorry but i am a french user that don't speak really well
your language)

Yesterday i had installed the service pack 2 cd on the computer of one of my
friends that has an HP computer with windows home edition installed.

The problem is there : since the SP2 has been installed, my friends computer
ask for an activation key and (of course) the windows home key gived by HP
doesn't work...

My first question is : Why?

My second question is : What should I do to have service pack 2 on this
computer.

Thanks a lot for your help (and for have read my poor english ^^)

If the computer is bought with the Windows Home XP pre-installed, you need
to contact the supplier it was bought from or local HP office to get the
activation sorted out.

A number of Service Packs & upgrades check for genuine software license /
activation before they are applied to the PC.

BTW, you posted to the wrong newsgroup. This newsgroup is for Microsoft
Access, a database application. If you need further help, suggest you post
to one of the relevant Windows newsgroups.
