xp and xp pro

I have xp home on one computer and xp pro on the other. I have them connected to a Lynksys router. I have a cable modem connected to the internet. The xp home computer connected to internet fine. The one with pro will not connect to the internet. The two computers talk to each other and you can trade files but the xp pro computer will not connect to internet. I have tried to connect it directly to cable modem even that doesn't work. any ideas?

What does it say?
Page cannot be displayed, or cannot find server?

Open IE
Go to Tools
Go to Internet Options
Go to Connections
Go to LAN settings
Click to check Automatically detect settings
