XP and languages

I have recently purchased a laptop in Germany which has
Windows XP in German installed. Is there any way I could
switch the language to English?

One cannot change the language version of Windows XP.
You'll have to purchase a "Full English Version" of
Windows XP, reformat your hard drive, then install it.

you can add English as an input language, so you can type text in english.

go to Start | Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | Languages tab
| Details button | Add button and add whatever English version you like

then you can start typing in English. fyi, you can use the Alt + Shift to
switch between 2 or more languages you have.

hope this helps,
nada
