Hi all,
I have a problem. Everytime I run Adaware it freezes my
computer about 3/4 of the way through. However, I am able
to run spysweeper without difficulty. Any comments would
be appreciated.
Thanks,
LT

Hi

Have you tired uninstall/reinstalling Ad-Aware to see if that helps? When
Ad-Aware freezes - any error messages?

Haven't tried uninstalling/reinstalling yet. No error
messages, just my whole computer freezes and I have to
unplug, on/off switch won't work either.
Thanks,

Hi

Try the uninstall/reinstall option - not sure why it should freeze.

I've had that happen before as a result of malware disabling the
Ad-aware scan. Update Ad-aware in Normal mode, then startup in Safe Mode
to do the scan.

There is an AdAwareCloak.exe available at Lavasoft which prevents malwares
from disabling AdAware.
Uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't help !!!

There is nothing at lavasoft I can find by that name and search results
return no hits. Are you sure about this?

AdAware appears to have taken to freezing (and to be 'not responding')
if it is allowed to lose focus. You have to start it, leave the mouse
pointer over it, and go away until it has completed the scan without
anything else taking over processing. Even, I suspect, a screensaver
