Hi,
I have been running adaware for over a year now, and just
recently everytime I run it, it won't finish, I get the
blue screen with all kinds of writing on it telling me if
this is the first time, reboot and if not check the
drivers and other things to this effect, and this happens
everytime now that I try and run adaware, would
appreciate any help here that I can get.
Thank you for your time
Bonnie

Hi,
May be the Adaware installed in your machine has some problems. You
uninstall it and download and install a fresh Adaware with latest version.
You may also look at the Event viewers for getting some clues.

Bonnie, if you've been running it over a year... have you also been
upgrading the program? Version 6 came out less than a year ago, and was
significantly revised again over the summer.

I would recommend that you uninstall the program, download a fresh copy from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ and be sure to update its definitions before
running. The reinstall, using the latest version, should solve this problem.
If not, please provide the actual text of the blue screen message so we know
which error message you are getting. If you'd like to see the format and
relevant information of these error "Stop messages" in XP, see:

Bonnie, this applies to all programs, when you install a program
such as AdAware or an anti-virus program you need to upgrade it
all the time. AdAware has issued updates almost weekly for months
now. A good site to keep up with upgrades and updates is download.com
and you may find it useful in more ways. :-)

It's not AdAware. It's likely either hardware malfunction or a major
screw-up in the OS installation. It could also be that a video driver
doesn't like some drawing sequence and AdAware happens to issue that
sequence. In this case, you need to undate the video driver.

AdAware is just an application which should not be able to cause a blue
screen voluntarily.

I pretty much agree with you in theory, but not for the reasons you
said. Most likely, since it's worked for the op before, it's prolly just
his/her 39 background apps getting in the way.
