Xbox controller and Vista

I know that Vista has built-in support for the Xbox controller but I have a
couple of questions.

How does it connect to a PC? Is it a USB connection? Or something else?

Also, does Vista support the wireless Xbox controller? If so, how does this
connect? Via a standard wireless connection?

Yes, you need to buy a USB| wireless adapter for it, I think its on
Amazon.com for like $20.
