Hi guys,

I want to start gaming on my PC and my mate suggested getting some sort of device that can let me use my wireless xbox 360 controller on the PC.

Has anyone used these things (wireless) on their PC before?

Well mate going back to use the keyboard and mouse for gaming doesn't feel so right.
I am so used to utilising a controller for gaming!

Yeah that product looks like the one you need :) I've got the wired version and it's great for some games (i.e. racing / Lego Star Wars ;)).

Controllers, compared to mouse and keyboard, suck.

If you play any computer games such as CoD4 online with a control pad, you'll get slaughtered.

Once you get used to mouse and keyboard, you'll understand what I mean, there is just so much more control.

Here's the most commonly mapped keys, or at least the way I map things:

W - forward
S - Backward
A - Move left
D - Move right
Space - Jump
C - Crouch
Q - Go prone
E - Melee (Bash)/Sniper Hold Breath
F - Use
Mouse - Look around/view
Mouse 1 - Fire
Mouse 2 - secondary fire/sniper view
Mouse three (click scroll wheel) - Grenade

There are others of course but that's the basics I use.

Believe me, you're mugging yourself if you use a controller for fps's.

I use a wired X-Box controller on my AMD machine, it's a great piece of kit, but mostly for racing games, never fps's.

That was the kind of key setup that I had to use on Rainbow 6 vegas 2 and I got fedup within 10 minutes.

I hated it!

I guess you are not a console man, but if you were I wonder if you would change your mind about controllers.

I agree about the keyboard/mouse FPS combo :) I couldn't use a controller for a FPS, it lacks the precision by a long way!

If it's FPS you want to play, then persist with it for a little longer

How about games like Fifa? I played 09 on the PC and I got well agitated! They have completely changed the layout of the controls.

I'm the opposite of most, having used consoles for most me life i find it difficult using KB and Mouse on FPS, i bought i Saitek P2600 for about £15 is very good i can control sensitivity and make different profiles for different games so its always the buttons i want.

I think i'm much better at COD4 on the PS3 than i am on the PC, it takes me longer to set the cursor on my target at long range than it does with a control pad.

Control pads all the way for me.
