Wrong display adapter

Roy

My motherboard had some problem and after I got it
replaced for the exact same one, Windows XP doesn't seem
to be able to use my Geforce4 420 as the correct display
adapter. Instead, it uses a Non-plug and play VGA driver,
causing the screen to flicker whenever I drag n drop
something.

I've tried updating the driver for my display card but
nothing work. Can somebody help me?

Specs:
P4 2.0 Ghz
256MB RAM
30GB HDD
Windows XP Professional.

Thanks in advance,
Roy

This problem is not with the display adapter. The system may not have a
on-board video but Windows XP may be corrupted. I was forced to do an XP
repair install, which fixed my FX 5200 access.

Roy;
You may have a hardware problem with the motherboard and/or video
card.
Power off, open case and reseat the video card >3 times ensuring fully
seated when completed.
Sometimes these cards seem fully seated when they are not.
Disable any on board video.

You might also try rebooting to safe mode to remove the previous drives,
then reboot to install new drivers.
