I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FS115Z ES2. I couldn't install the Sound card and
the modem using the Sony drivers supplied by sony's web site. Created the
followins case in E-Support:

*** NOTES 10-Mar-2005 Action Type: Info
1. Installed service pack: WindowsXP Pro SP2
Still using service pack: no
2. Boot language: Spanish
3. Detailed problem description: I've installed windows XP SP2 english
version, downloaded the drivers and aplications from Sony site and started
installing.

When i try to install the sound card, i obtain the following error:
"Microsoft bus driver should be loaded in your system before installing
Realtek HD audio driver!".

I've tried to install all other drivers, but this one does no install,
neither the v.92 modem.

In device manager there is a "PCI Device" that cannot be installed by
using any of the drivers supplied by Sony in the web site.

I took Print Screens, but cannot upload them. If you give-me an email
address i can send them to you. Thank You.
4. Checked for upgrades or patches: yes
5. Additional SW: there is no other software other than windows Xp and
some of the drivers.
6. Additional HW: There is no other hardware.
7. Extra memory added: no
8. Additional remarks: The issue occur always.

After that post I've installed a driver located found in a web site and the
the sound card and the modem started to work, but another problem apeared...

I have 2 partition created, c: - 30GB and f: - 65GB...
Before installing the new driver this was all ok, but after they appear in
my computer as having 1GB only.
I deleted the F: partition and recreated it, and now it is fine, by c: I
cannot delete :-(

I've reinstalled windows, done every thing again and nothing changed...

Please help.

Thanks

I think you may have answered you own question in mixing language versions
of XP and SP2 have you tried removing SP2 then getting drivers from Sony and
installing?

That was not the problem.

I found out a driver for my sound card
(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=888111), installed it and the problem
happened again...
I found that it happened when i added the laptop to a domain - Probably a
GPO policy. I've formated the vaio again, intalled all the drivers and now
i'd like to add it to the domain again.
Any ideas?

Thanks
Gilberto Ribeiro
