Write non-video files to a DVD

HOw can I write data files to a DVD (not a CD)

I put a blank DVD in my CD/DVD/ r/rw drive and copy the files to the window that represents the disk. WHen it is time to write the temporary files to the DVD, windows complains that my CD is either full or the wrong format.

This proceedure works OK when I use a CD, but not for a DVD.

More details: The DVD is a 'DVD+R". The error message I get is
The disc in the drive is not a writable CD or it is full

The CD burner is a MSI DVD R/RW

Does anybody know an easy solution to this one

Try using Nero or other software rather than XP CD burning wizard.

The inbuilt burning is limited (see http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm)
and AFAIK is CD only at that . You need a third party program like Nero
