Unable to add/copy files to non-blank cd/dvd

When I try a copy/drag&drop files onto a non-blank cd/dvd all seems to go
well until I'm asked to actually write the files on my partially filled cd.
The system then attempt to change the disk label to current date, or if I use
the actual cd/dvd label, the system indicates I need to use a "blank" media
(cd). I just want to add (copy - drag/drop)files to an existing cd/dvd.
HELP!!!

i would recommend nero or something if you want to create multisession
cd's, i havent actually tried to do this myself however when i use the
send to cdr through xp i dont remember seeing an option to keep session
open so that will probably be your problem.

Flamer.

Had the problem whuke using Roxio so I switched to Nero and the problem still
exists. It just seems that unless I use a blank media (cd/dvd) the copy
software (or maybe XP) wont allow me to add files to a non-blnk disk. I
really think this problem started when I went to SP2.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

If you don't close it such that files can be added, then you will see this
problem.
How are you telling Nero to close the disk?

Actually the disk was formatted the usually way (right click, format). Then
files were added as needed (not copied, but saved). It seems, once again, I
can still SAVE files, no problem, it just when I try to copy or drag and drop
that I encounter this problem.
