It is best to save and send a cv in .txt format.. that way, it can be
read anywhere..

Or .rtf, another format that virtually all word processors can
handle.

..Wps is a proprietary format. It can only be opened/accessed by Works.
When you need to send a document to someone who may not have works
save the file to a generic format, such as .RTF (Rich Text Format).
When the "Save As" box appears, toggle the format from Works to RTF.

I am having the same proplem. The download doesn't say that it will work
with Works 7.0. I need to submitt homework and the instructor can not open
the wps..

Not so. Word (at least Word 2003; I don't have other versions
handy to check) will open .wps files.

I'm not sure about other word processors, but I wouldn't be
surprised if those in StarOffice or OpenOffice could open them
too.
