Re-routing spool files

This is gonna be a strange one Guys
Thing is, I'd like to use my favourite wordprocessor, Lotus' AmiPro from way
back in 1992. Does all the things that Word does and more, all at a fraction
of the overheads. Unfortunately though, the idea of USB was just a gleam in
some developer's eye at the time, so when wanting hard-copy, the program
looks for either LPT1 or a COM port. for some reason, in the printer set-up
within the program, it reports the printer connected to Ne02 (whatever that
means) and printing documents brings up the message "couldn't open spool
file" and bizzarely, my realtime virus protection pops up simultanuously with
the message it has blocked the virus "Exploit.Win32.WMF-PFV", on path
C:\WINDOWS\Temp\~AMF050E.TMP, and yet I know my PC is free from viruses.
Anyone with any ideas???? Is it possible to assign/reroute/redirect LPT1 to a
USB port?
