Hey everyone.

I have a very distraught user. She recv'd an excel spreadsheet as an
attachment in an email message. She opened the attachment from the email
message, made several hours of changes to it - saving it via ctrl-s
periodically. She closed excel, closed the email message but clicked No when
prompted to save changes to the email message. Her changes are gone. Does
anyone know of a way to retrieve the info?

Thx.

When she clicked No when prompted to save changes to the email message, she told Outlook that she didn't want to update the original copy of the file attached to the message so that it included her changes. Outlook should, therefore, have deleted the temporary copy of the file that she had been working on. There is, however, a slim chance that file still exists in Outlook's temporary files directory. Have her open the file again from the message and then choose File | Save As BUT NOT SAVE THE FILE. When the Save As dialog opens, she should be able to see any other Excel files in the temp files directory and will be able to see the path to that folder.
