Working with Columns

Richard

I'm using Word 2003 and am trying to create a document (newsletter) using
columns in a simple 2 column format. When I insert a column break it moves
to column 2 then when I insert a column break in column 2 it moves me to the
next page even though there is still half of the page blank. Why isn't it
moving me back to column 1?

Have you ever seen a newspaper that uses part of col. 1, then part of
col. 2, then more of col. 1 for the same story, then more of col. 2,
etc.?

If you really want "checkerboard" columns like that, then use a
Continuous Section Break after the first piece of col. 2.

Alternatively, perhaps Richard really wants a table instead.

Thanks Suzanne, we are investigating both options to see which one works best
for our needs
