i just want to know what is the easiet way to have help remote support. i
work with over 500 computers in a school district. XP Pro and 2000 Pro
computers. Teachers need printers, programs, map drives all installed and it
would be great if i can remotely do that. instead of me running around like a
mad man. can you please help me out and give me steps on how to make this
better for me and my job? i tested it out on one computer but i don't want to
run around and enabling remote assistance on every computer. Im also running
on a domain and windows 2000 server if that helps. Thanks for your time.

Since Remote Desktop hosting exists only in XP Pro (and doesn't give you
interactive sessions) you probably need to look at something else. DameWare
is supposed to be very nice (www.dameware.com) or you could look into VNC or
one of its variants.

Hi,

I use DameWare NT Utilities to remote access all the
computers I work with. If your network uses W2K and XP
Pro, you will have no problems. Just with XP systems you
need to disable Simple File sharing to be able to remote
control and other functions that comes with DameWare NT
Utilities.
