Workgrouping XP Pro and 2K Pro

I have a friend with an older IBM Thinkpad (3 years)
and a new Dell PC (1 year). He's having trouble
workgrouping the two. The laptop won't connect to the
internet once SP4 is installed so it had to be
uninstalled. Does anyone know if SP4 is required to
successfully workgroup 2K Pro with XP Pro?

Hi,

No, it's not required. Something about it is interfering with the network
protocols, I'd suggest taking this up in one of the networking groups.
