workgroup file works on one database

how is it that I can access a database using a particular
workgroup file, yet when I try to open another database I
get the following message:

You do not have the necessary permissions to use
the'H:\database' object. Have your system administrator or
the person who created this object establish the
appropriate permissions for you.

I am the administrator and the owner of these files and
all the objects within (according to the Workgroup file)

When I check to see what workgroup file is being used it
is the same as the one used in the database I can open.

Any ideas why and what have I done wrong.

How can I get in to these secured databases? I have tried
restoring the workgroup file with the WID etc, but no joy.

Access databases, when properly secured, can only be opened using the
correct workgroup file and a valid user/pass combination. The error message
you're receiving usually means that you (a) aren't using the right workgroup
or (b) are using the right workgroup but an invalid user/pass. Try rejoining
the system.mdw file and see if you can get into the other, unsecured
databases.

Most people use desktop shortcuts to open and work on secured databases. The
target of your shortcut would be:

"Path To MSAccess.exe" "Path To your database" /wrkgrp "Path to the
workgroup file"

This allows you to work on several different databases with different
workgroup files without using the WorkGroup Administrator to change .mdw
files.
