workgroup and domain

i have a pc in workgroup, what can i do to stay in workgroup and loggin in
domain on server. for example
with win98 it possible that a pc stay on workgroup and you can
authenticate(open session) on windows domaine.

i want to do then same with windows xp

If I understand you correctly, you wish to leave a computer in a
Workgroup and not have it be a member of the domain while being able to
