Word versions fighting to be default

I know it's not recommended but I need two word versions on my machine: 2003
and 2000 (installed them in that order). 2003 should be default. 2000 is only
for testing backward compatibility...

Whenever I open version 2000 it makes itselfs the default version (also
changes icons). After that when i open 2003 the same happens there.

Can I avoid that version 2000 does that? 2003 should always be the default
version...

Thanks

Hi Koen

What you're experiencing is just what happens when you install two versions
side by side.

That's one reason that it's not recommended.

Hope this helps.

I was actually hoping that there would be some registry setting to disable
the auto-detect.

I have on another machine word 2003 and word 2007 next to each other and
there is no problem there...

Hi Koen

I don't know the details, but I do know that Word 2007 will live more
happily with other versions than any previous version will live with any
other previous version.

If you need more than one version of Office, and you have the appropriate
licences for both operating system and Office, the real solution is to use
Virtual PC. You can now get it for free from
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtualpc/default.mspx

Hope this helps.
