Word takes up to a minute to start

I have office 2000. Everything is fine except Word. I think it's down to
normal.dot - if I delete it, Word takes about 2 seconds to start, but next
time (once it's created a new normal.dot) it's back to 30 seconds to a minute
to start.

I've read through all the stuff on this, deleting registry data key etc.

I've installed SR1 - no change.

Any other ideas welcome.

Use WIndow's find to find all files ~* *.tmp

Delete all these

Do a defrag

Retry, reply if pain persists.
