Word - spell check

Sometimes when I am conducting a spell check, I will get a
messsage that says "Text marked with "do not check
spelling or grammar was skipped". How do you mark text
not to be spell checked and how do you undo it?

Maybe it's referring to names, abbreviations, or terms that have been
marked "Ignore" in the past? Also in Word's Tools> Options>Spelling and
Grammer screens, there are quite a few "Ignore" settings.
