Word normal.dot Issues.... I think.......

On my workstation at work I am running MS Word 2003 SP2 and we are
under the rule of the I.T. Department so occasionally 'things' happen
on our systems. I am not sure when this happened but I have an issue
with the way Word's template normal.dot file is starting up. When I
fire up Word or start a new document, my cursor shows up in the
EXTREME upper left corner of the page, indented from the left margin
properly but typing on the top edge of the page. I have View set to
Print Layout and my top margin is set to 1". If I click View, Header
and Footer to display the header box, and then close the header window
immediately, my cursor drops down to the proper 1" top margin,
regardless of having any text typed or not.

If I click New to start a new document, it is at the very top line
again. I have some VB apps included on my toolbar to insert autotext
for my email signature and I know (from trying to fix this a little
while back), if I go restoring my normal.dot from an older version
these will go away and have to be done from scratch and it won't fix
this issue. I have also a Detect and Repair without sucess.

Anyone have a clue what might be going on here????

You can solve this in two ways. One click on the top edge of the page - this
is probably how you changed this is the first place. Second, go to Tools |
Options and on the View menu under Print and Web layout options check white
space between pages. Hope this helps.

FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect! I didn't know that option existed.
Somehow this must of gotten turned off and that option setting sixed
it perfectly! Why do I always feel like there is a very simple
solution for what seems to be the most complicated problem... :O)
