Word files are suddenly Zipped

Peter

When I attach a Word file to an email, it comes through to
the recipient as a Zipped file. (This is a problem,
because the intended recipient works at a company that
strips all zipped files from incoming emails as a security
measure.) I have tried sending in HTML, Rich Text and
Plain Text and it happens in each case. How can I attach
a Word file to an Outlook-sent email and NOT have it
automatically zipped?
Thanks.

Just discovered (in another area of this newsgroup) the
source of the problem. It was my QuickView Plus. I went
into View, Configure, Applications and clicked on
Microsoft Outlook and then Properties. There, under
Options, I UNCHECKED "Compress Attachments Larger Than ..."

Now, how that got checked in the first place is something
that I will NEVER know.

But thanks Newsgroup users -- all of you!

Do you have QuickView Plus or Zipout installed? (Whatever it is, it is a
third party extension being added to Outlook since Outlook doesn't do this
natively. I haven't seen this feature server side as of yet, but don't rule
it out either.)
