Word crashes everytime, sends error report

Today Word 2003 started crashing everytime I open it. it opens fine and then
after about 10 seconds I get the error message that wants to send an error
report to Microsoft. I've spent hours on MS knowledge base trying to figure
out why this is happening. The Error Signature is as follows:

AppName: winword.exe AppVer: 11.0.6502.0 AppStamp:424d964d
ModName: opla_ui.dll ModVer: 2.0.1.0 ModStamp:3f4dcfd5
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00003228

my MS knowledge base searches and google searches have turned up nothing. I
also uninstalled MS Office and reinstalled it and am getting the same issues.

Others may have ideas about the specific cause of your problem, but see

And since Word has been crashing, you need to clean up after the crashes, as

just a follow up that I'm still having the same issue. I tried the
recommendations on the link you sent Shauna. This is very frustrating....

the issue, for whatever reason, ended up being something very odd. Internet
Explorer was crashing on me as well when I tried printing a page and I found
that to be strange so I deleted all my printers (4 of them) and all of a
sudden Word, Excel and IE worked fine. I added the printers back one at a
time and found the one printer that was causing this issue. I have no idea
why, but this seems to have worked.
