WORD 2003 crashes when opening document with macros disabled.

I am having a problem I would like to have help with WORD 2003 crashes when
opening document with macros disabled.

I am using a DELL GX745 MINI-TOWER PentiumIV-HyperThreading 2GB RAM

Microsoft Office Word
Error Signature
AppName: winword.exe AppVer: 11.0.8237.0 AppStamp: 48eff681 ModName:
lloffice.dll ModVer: 4.8.1.191 ModStamp: 464aec66 fDebug: 0 Offset: 0001e0ae

If I choose to open the document with macros enabled the document opens
up fine.

BUT I want to open the document with macros disabled and then do a merge.

Also during a merge and compare word states the disk is full and can't
save the merged document anywhere.

Hi pcrxtex,

First off, I'd try repairing Office (Help|Detect & Repair) and, with all apps closed, clearing out al 'tmp' files in whatever folder
Word uses for its temporary files - including the folder where the document is stored. Also, avoid working with removable media that
doesn't have lots of free space. If none of that works, try the approaches suggested here:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProblemsStartingWord.htm and
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541
for various series of troubleshooting steps that will help you track down (and hopefully solve) the problem.
