Word 6.0/95 text coverter annoying message WHEN i try to save

I am using WORD 2003.

Any time I try to save a file, I get this window:

"This file needs to be saved using the Word 6.0/95 text converter. If you
are not the author of this file or if the file is not from a trusted
source, using this converter may pose a security risk. Click Yes to save
this file only if you are sure it is from a trusted source."

How can i stop getting this message? It is slowing me down big time.

Change the save as file option to Word Document and not the Word 6.0/95 that
is currently in use.

All my files are already set as "Save Word Files as: Word Document
(*.doc)"

Perhaps it has to do with "Disable Features introduced after"?

instructions to reset Word's registry, rename normal.dot to oldnormal.dot,
restart Word and run detect and repair from the help menu.
