I have Windows X P Home & I updated using windows automatic updates this
morning one of them being (Office Genuine Advantage Notifications
(KB949810) en-us) I now have a new star icon in the notification area of
my desktop & when I click on it I get a message saying Office Genuine
Advantage can't be validated I have installed office updates before with
no problem, some of them from the Office update site I even tried using
System Restore then tried the Office Update site but still got the can't
validate message......I have opened Word & clicked Help the Activate & got a
pop up saying it was already activated tried searching for help & found
instructions to run a diagnostic tool did so & part of it says

OGA Data-->
Office Status: 101 Not Activated
Microsoft Word 2002 - 101 Not Activated
OGA Version: Registered, 1.6.28.0
Signed By: Microsoft

I am a complete novice I am afraid & this has me quite stumped, why after
all the years I have had my computer is this happening

Since your question is related to MS Word, I would post it in an MS Word or
MS Office newsgroup.
