Word 200-XP-SP2

Don't know if it's a coincidence but after I downlaoded SP2 the other day I
cannot get into Word or any files in My documents. I get immediate error
message "Micrsooft has encountered a problem and needs to close" error
message sent to Microsoft reads.
C:\DOCUME 1\nameLOCALS 1\ temp\wer3.tmp.dsir00\appcompatitxt
I uninstalled SP 2, then unistalled and reinstalled WORD 2000, no change in
problem. No other programs like Excel, Access etc are affected, just WORD
2000
Ayone have a fix for this??? Help needed

I have word 2000 - I installed SP2 & I never had any problems - yet - lol.
Try system restore to put your pc back to an earlier time when word was
working. Do an MSCONFIG to avoid software conflicts - srun spyware &
antivirus s/w as well. If your user account became corrupted - try creating
another user account. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem with Word 2002. I deleted and recreated the user
profile and it was working for one day and then the problem came back.
