won't remember passwords

we just installed windows xp and it won't remember any of our passwords,
even though we check the box to remember them.Did I miss something in the
setup?

Outlook Express keeps prompting for your password - Fix

This fix also applies to Outlook, other programs that store passwords
in the Protected Storage System Provider sub-branch of the Registry.
It also corrects some issues with Internet Explorer and AutoComplete.
