I am new to this. Have been trying to install this for a month
unsuccessfully, including this evening. Finally fm MS download center I
tried download and this is the error message in full:
"Info 9002 Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 cnnot be installed
because you have one or more hot fixes installed. Remove them and try again."

I have no idea what a hot fix is, where to find it or how to remove it. BUT
I listen well and can follow instructions. Would one of you experts perhaps
give me a hand so I can get this thing installed...finally? Thanks in
advance.

Thanks for reply. I was trying to install MSNet Framework 1.1 Service Pack
1.

Your reply was helpful because one of the links put me on to a link that had
another link which addressed specifically problems of installing this
particular Service Pack and had several suggested ways to fix it.

I will try those ways to fix over the next several days and get back to you
if I am still stuck.

Thanks again so much....John in Naples

1. Write down what .NET Framework versions are already installed before you
go uninstalling/removing any of them!

2. Now see Resolutions Methods 1 or 2 in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100 (ignore the title).

If no joy, see this related post by my colleague MowGreen:

Thanks so much, PA Bear. I think I'll try those other fixes above before I
attempt anything so complex. Golly, all I'm trying to do is peacefully get
E-mails from my kids and grandkids without that annoying little sign in the
task bar saying I have updates to install!

Thanks again, I'll be back if I still have problem.
