won't boot up, can you create bootable CD?

computer won't boot up. Corrupt registery file, missing Sysem 32 file. Need bootable CD. followed Microsoft instructions to create boot disc, downloaded & wrote to CD. Tried to boot from CD but said cd wasn't bootable cd. Computer doesn't have a floppy drive. How do I get the CD to work? Is there a trick to making a bootable CD? HELP!

Use your xp disk, it is bootable. Set your bios to boot from the CD as the
first device.

have an XP CD.

In that case, you're best of contacting the manufacturer to see what you're
supposed to do in a situation like this. If you managed to create a bootable
CD from a floppy image, you wouldn't be able to do much with it except look
at a dos prompt.
