Hey,
I was just wanting some advice or even a solution if available.
Manufacturer: Packard Bell NEC
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1022MB RAM
Hard Drive: 250 GB
Video Card: RADEON 9550
Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
Sound Card: Realtek AC97 Audio
Speakers/Headphones: Realtek AC97 Audio
Thats my specs and Im trying to run windows media player to play music
that I have stored on an external harddrive. Its fine for the first few
songs usually then its runs very slow CPU going up to around 70-95%
making it barley possible to close it in taskmgr.
I have no problems running games, office work etc its only when I play
music.
Thanks, Jamie.

Is there any other device that is plugged in when you are listening to
music? For eg, a pocketpc or any such device? If yes, unplug the device
before you start listening to music in wmplayer and let me know the results.

However, if the above doesnt work or doesnt apply, go to the task manager
and copy the data and reply.

Cheers...

The only RM I have connected is my external harddrive.
I have tried removing WMP11 runtimes and rolling back to WMP10 and
still no success.
I have only had this problem since a format a few days ago due to
wanting to install Norton on a fresh computer.
Im running Norton 2007 (Internet Security,Save and Restore,
SystemWorks)

Winamp can play my files fine, it just seems to be WMP I have even
disabled visualisations incase its my video card and removed the K-Lite
Codec pack incase of confilicts. I have alos re-installed my aduio
drivers and still no luck.
