WMP video files, play slow and lag.

When i try to open a video file WMP displays this:

The file you are trying to play has an extension
that does not match the file format. Playing the file may
result in unexpected behaviour.


I would appreciate any help, thanks

The format of the video file is not supported by Windows

Media Player (WMP). So get another video player. There
are many FREE (freeware or shareware) available.
Recommend you download IrfanView from below website, it
will open just about any video or graphics file in
existence: http://www.PCWorld.com/downloads/
