WMP: song starts then winds down

When I try to play an audio file in WMP 9, the song will
start out ok then a seconf later the pace of the song
will start to slow down. The problem does not affect
video. I have all the latest drivers for my sound card
and the player worked fine with audio for about a week.
Any answers out there?

This should only happen for MP3 files if you have 'ctmp3.acm' on your
system.

Yeah that did the trick. If anyone else reads this and
has been having the same problem, the fix is to run a
search on your system for ctmp3.acm and change the file
type to a .bak file(ctmp3.bak). Thank you very much for
the help. I would have been pulling my hair out for days
on this one.
