WMP 10 conflict

I cannot get WMP 10 to play music on my computer. I've tried all the fixes I
could find mentioned in the newsgroup to no avail. It plays video fine, and
everything else seems to work, but when I attempt to play an audio file I get
error C00D11BA--a conflict with my sound card. Everything else on my
computer (including iTunes, Sound Forge, Adobe Audition, Sonar, etc.) works
fine with my sound card. I've installed the latest drivers for everything,
the latest direct x, all, again, to no avail. This is my second posting
attempting to get help. Any suggestions?

If I get it right, WMP10 does not recognize your audio devices while your
audio devices are installed correctly since you can use them with other
programs.
Go WMP10/Tools/Options/Devices/Speakers/Properties/SoundPlayback and check
what Audio devices you want to use. Then pick the Advanced option to test
your speakers.
Also check S/PDIF settings - depending if you use digital speakers or analog
ones.

I swear I've done all that before. But I just did it again, and now
suddenly, it's working. Sometimes computers drive me crazy.

Thanks for your help.
