wmm capture from video device problem

i try to captue video from camera to computer through usb cable, its hooked
up properly, but i keep getting message that says...video capture device no
detected, verify that a device is on and connected properly and then try
again.

Try firewire if it's a digital camcorder.

For some reason I am now having this same problem. I had this problem before
and reformatted my system and that fixed it but I would rather not do that
again if there is another way. Please help if you can, Thanks Greg

If it's trying to capture with usb then follow Cari's advice and use
firewire.
