I've been using WM 5.1 for about a week and had no problems until today.
I'd signed in (using SIP) and had been using WM fine all day.
Then I started Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.02 to look at a PDF (I double clicked
on the PDF to start it). At that point Windows Messenger disapeared from the
notification area and then I got a Windows Messenger 5.1 dialog box showing
installation progress with a green bar moving left to right. After about 30
seconds I got the following error:
Windows Messenger 5.1
An error occured during the installation of assembly compnent
{B2A34B25054A3-446F-976B-C3BC2768D95C}.
HRESULT: 0x80070020.
I then pressed OK, and got the green bar going from right to left. Then it
would start all over again, dozens of time. It kept looping through this so
I clicked cancel during the install many times until it eventually gave up.
Acrobat Reader never started during all this. I doubled click on the PDF and
then it came up. Then I started WM from its icon on the start menu and I
signed back in.
Any ideas why this behaviour would occur?
Thanks
Mike
