Is there an alternative toWanadoo's Live box? I have Wanadoo Broadband and
would like to move my computer away from the phone socket. This looks quite
simple with the Livebox but could it be done with any other router?

Yes, any other wireless ADSL modem-router - I like the Netgear DG834G
as they're very easy to set up & at least as reliable as any other
brand or model.

For wireless network cards & USB dongles I like the Belkin 54G stuff -
it uses the Ralink chipset & you can install it under XP without
3rd-party network-monitoring tools, which are invariably poorer than XP
SP2's own one. To ensure this I ignore Belkin's advice to run the
setup.exe before installing the card & just plug the wireless adaptor
into the PC; when it prompts for drivers insert the Belkin CD, ignore
the warning & Bob's your mother's brother. I've installed many cards
this way over the last year or so & it's a very reliable method.

I like http://broadbandbuyer.co.uk as a supplier.

Stroller.
