Wireless optical mouse 2.0 scroll wheel, and Mozilla

Tom

Apologies in advance if this is not the appropriate group
for this post.

I am running Win XP and recently acquired the wireless
optical mouse.

My challenge: When using the "tabbed browsing" function in
Mozilla web browser I typically depress the scroll wheel
one time and the link loads in a new tab underneath the
page I am viewing.

I have looked in the properties tab for the scroll wheel
and "click" does not appear to be an option.

Does anyone have a suggestion for making this function that
I have grown accustomed to work with the optical mouse?

thanks in advance- Tom

If the mouse came with an installation disk try
installing the app in the disk and that may resolve your
problem

In Mozilla, check Edit, Preferences, Navigator, Tabbed browsing. Make sure
there is a checkmark in Middle-click, ctrl+click....

Now, check your mouse properties in Windows. Make sure the middle button is
set to Middle-button. Set it to anything else, including auto-scroll (the
default) will prevent Mozilla from catching the click.

Courtney:

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately "middle button" is
not an option with the 2.0 wireless mouse as far as I can
tell. Are you using the same mouse? I do have the drivers
installed and the mozilla preferences checked.

Thanks - Tom
