My mouse just quit working a couple of days ago. The battery is good. I ran
through the troubleshooter. I uninstalled the driver. I downloaded the
latest version of the software. I tried plugging it into the other usb port
on my laptop. Nothing has helped. The red light on the mouse is on. The
green light on the transmitter is on. Please help

Okay if it is working or not malfunctioing in device manager then it isn't
detected by the OS!
Highlight the Device in device manager and Right click and select Scan for
New Hardware and see if it will detect and recongnize the Mouse, does it help?
If it didn't then again back on Device manager and right click the DEvice
and this time select properties and try to update the Driver, but before this
try to download the Latest driver from here:
Download Mouse and Keyboard Software
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=MK
Fill the Form to get the right driver.
Did you checked the BIOS?
HTH,
Let us know.

USB mice do not need the enhance drivers. Have you tried just the
default drivers in XP?

Also, you should try this mouse on a completely dfiferent PC. This
would make sure to see if the mouse is dead or is the problem only
with your PC.

It appears to be the mouse. I tried my mouse in another computer, and it did
not work. I tried her wireless mouse in my computer, and it did work. Is
there anything else to do to fix it?

If the mouse does not work on other PCs, then if it is still under
warranty, call Microsoft. They will send you another one.
