Keep losing Wireless Optical Mouse

J

James Pearce

I brought the Wireless Optical Desktop just over a month
ago, and I keep losing the signal from the mouse. The
keyboard works fine, but after about 5 mins, the mouse
doesn't work.

The light still is on and lights up when moving. I've
changed the batteries and tried different USB ports. It
works for 5 mins after the computer has not been on for a
while and the light underneath the mouse is flashing.

Any ideas?

Thanks...

Where is the mouse placed with respect to the receiver? My experience is
that they don't like it when they get too far apart or if something gets in
the way.

The receiver is placed about 50cm away.

I was a fool to buy the OEM product and save a bit of
money, because Microsoft wont give the product support.

I'm wondering whether it is the receiver that is faulty,
not the mouse. At the moment I'm using a PS/2 mouse.

Thanks for your reply.

I've tried what you said, and put the adapter on the mouse
to make it PS/2. Unfortunatley, it did not work.

I think I might go and purchase a logitech one and see how
that copes.

Thanks for your help.
