Wireless network printer sharing

On my small (2 computer, 1 printer) office wireless network, the printer
connection from the second laptop won't connect. It has connected without any
problem in the past, but after this computer was disconnected and used
somewhere else, it doesn't work on the network. The network functions okay
and the shared printer, which is directly connected to the other
laptop/server, shows up in the printer dialog on the second computer.
However, it shows "unable to connect", and when I try to open the Properties,
there is an error message "Printer properties cannot be displayed. The print
spooler service is not running." I've opened the Services list in
Administrative Tools, and it shows Print Spooler as "Started". I've stopped
and restarted this, with no change. I've rerun the Network Setup Wizard on
both computers and checked that printer sharing is checked on the main unit.

Any ideas, anyone? Thanks,

Added note: After looking at some of the other posts, I ran the "net stop
spooling" and "net start spooling" commands. Still no luck - same error
message.

Thanks -- I have checked the settings on the network, and each computer has
the IP addresses assigned by the router, 192.168.1.100 (basic laptop/server)
and 192.168.1.101 for the wirelessly connected laptop. The problem seems to
be that they are not sharing files or printer, even though I set "share" on
the file folders on the server laptop, so this may also be why the printer is
not connecting. Both are running XP SR2, and the router is a Linksys WRT54G,
which set up seamlessly with their Easylink Connect and Advisor.

Once you've established they are both in the same Workgroup, run the Network
Setup Wizard on one and then take the floppy to the other. Are you running
Home or Pro?

Somewhat different problem; couldn't get a new question box to open.

Running local wireless network, three laptops, one HP multi-function
connected to wireless router. All running XP Home. All print functions
normal until installation of latest MS Windows update on two of the laptops.
The computer without the update connects to the printer as normal. The two
updated computers now fail to print and get "Print spooler cannot connect to
printer" msg. None of the possible reasons given in the msg apply.

I think it has something to do with the new Data Execution Prevention but I
don't know what to do. I believe it is possible to name exceptions to DEP
but, again, I don't know exactly how.
