Wireless Network Icon

Scott

I recently disabled my network signal strength icon in
the systray (green stairstep type icon). I am wishing to
get it back but I can't find the area to make it
available again. The only thing listed under the network
properties is a box to enable/disable the two computer
type icon. Where can I find the checkbox to enable the
signal strength icon?
Thank You.

Hi Scott,

What make and model of wireless NIC are you using? You may want to look at
the properties of the NIC since the only signal strength indicator in XP is
located on the "status" of the connection (double click the "two computer
type icon").

Thanks,

Scott:

On my computer the green stairstep icon is for the Orinoco Client Mgr.
If you have an Orinoco Gold, Silver, or USB card try the following:
Logon as Admin gp member
Open msconfig via Start: Run: msconfig
Click on Start tab
Checkmark the Orinoco Client Mgr entry
