wireless network detected pop-up in WinXP

How do I remove the "wireless network detected" message in XP? This darn
message keeps popping up and I'd like to remove it completely.
 
If I turn off the wireless card will I not loose my connection? I just want
to get rid of the darn message. For whatever reason it pops up about every
hour.
