Wireless Mouse?

I did have at one time a wireless mouse and keyboard hooked to my system.
The mouse didn't work very good, but the keyboard did so I went back to the
usb mouse and wireless keyboard. My issue is, I keep getting these pop ups
saying my wireless mouse is critically low on batteries, but I have gone into
the mouse options and said I am not using the wireless mouse anymore and so
forth. So where is my system reading that it is low on batteries and how can
I rid this error message......?

Thanks so much!
