I have a HP wireless mouse. I sometimes have a problem with it moving the
arrow around the page--seems like slow motion. When I play card games it
sometimes takes two or three clicks to move the card. Other times it works
just fine. I have tried two different mice and they both have the same
problem. Can anyone offer an opinion as to why this is happening. I have
replaced the batteries.

when you have tried more than one mouse it is likely not to be a mouse
failure, right?

since I don't think we are talking about an old mouse with a rubber
ball inside:
put a paper sheet under the mouse and try again
some desks and mousepads have a surface that is not fit for optical
mouses

I would say that there is some RF interference causing this. Do you
have any cell phone(s) near the mouse or receiver?

Do you have an old monitor next to the received, believe it or not they
can cause interference as well.

Any other electronic equipment fairly close?

I have until recently been suffering the same problem, for me the solution
was to move the transmitter nearer the mouse.

I moved the receiver closer and it did, indeed, seem to solve the problem. I
had the receiver in the same spot for the last 15 months. Who knows why all
of a sudden it needed to be closer, but, whatever works .
